Iseltwald.BE - fishing village on Lake
Brienz |
 |
 |
|
Iseltwald nestles on the sunny
southern shores of Lake Brienz, the only village on this side of the
emerald-green lake . A rocky spur jutting into the water creates a tiny
harbour with a unique appeal.
Picture-book perfection is completed by the Schnäggeninseli or Snail Island,
a little to the east of the village.
The ruggedly romantic village district extends over the hamlets of Sengg and
Fura towards distant Bättenalp. At an altitude of 2687 metres, the Faulhorn
peak to the south is the highest point in the 22.12 km2 municipality.
The bewitching beauty of the village and its surroundings has already
inspired many artists and authors to create great works.
